SPIRIT WHAT IS IT? The English word "spirit" has many differing meanings and connotations, but commonly refers to a supernatural being or essence — transcendent and therefore metaphysical in its nature: the Concise Oxford Dictionary defines it as "the non-physical part of a person". For many people, spirit, like soul, forms a natural part of a being: such people may identify spirit with mind, or with consciousness, or with the brain. You, therefore are essentially spirit. Spirit is always triumphant over matter. When we are in line with spirit we are driven with purpose, life force. It's easy to recognize when we are not. We feel down, heavy, burdened and suffer lack of enthusiasm and drive. Relaxation and meditation are ways to bring our physical bodies into alignment with spirit. By regularly "tuning in" we can maintain a peaceful existence in a turbulent world. Connecting with spirit allows us to free our mind When we allow ourselves to be in touch with our spiritual connectedness our emotions are at peace and anxiety leaves our body and mind. New, fresh and profound insight comes to us when we feel at ease. The moment we are living in line with our spiritual purpose we are pursuing our soul's mission. Relaxation & Meditation Sitting in meditation brings us back to stillness so that we can reconnect with our own individual life force and purpose. Sometimes the level of meditation one would like does not come easily. There are many ways you can achieve a higher sense of awareness and attain stillness and peace. Listening to relaxing music is another tool as is burning aromatic oils or burning candles and having massage. Whatever is right for you, they can all have the same affect which is to alter our state of consciousness. Using a mandala such as the one below, staring into the sky and gazing at all the stars, or into the flames and ambers of a fire are all ways to "meditate" and bring inner peace, a place of sanctuary and stillness.

When we fall into that space of oneness we feel and know true love and when we can be in that moment we grow to appreciate our physical body even more. They are all connected and it is essential for our excellent health to acknowledge our mind and our senses...
